DJ Mayzz was born and raised in Lagos, Nigeria. Growing up, he was exposed to listening to a vast and diverse collection of his father’s favorite records. This served as the foundation for his innate love and passion for the emotion’s music generates in people.

In 2006, He enrolled at the University of Mississippi where he immediately became in charge of music at all events and parties thrown by the African Caribbean Association. In 2007, He met DJ Fireyout, with whom he spent countless hours learning, honing and mastering real Disc Jockey skills. This led to him being a household DJ name in and around Oxford, Mississippi for spreading culture and unforgettable experiences through his love for music and smooth transitions.
